The Pollinator’s Gift
Mario and Junie go to their Nana’s garden, and are scared by the bees. But Nana Bea explains how important they are for pollinating everything from flowers to plants that grow many of the foods we love.
“What are pollinators?” Junie said.
“Duh, they’re bees,” sassed Mario
And stood on his head.
“You’re right, said Bea.
“But butterflies and hummingbirds
lemurs and shrews
even bats and some lizards
are pollinators too.”
